SUPERCOMPUTING ANALYSIS OF FAN-SHAPED WAVES IN THE EARTH'S
CRUST AT THE DEPTH OF SEISMIC ACTIVITY

V.M. Sadovskii, O.V. Sadovskaya

Abstract

The high-speed process of tectonic faults formation in zones of seismic activity of the Earth's crust is analyzed in a plane strain state based on the model of elastic blocks interacting through a domino-structure under conditions of strong hydrostatic compression. Numerical simulation of the dynamics of emerging fan-shaped waves is performed by means of the developed computational algorithm and computer program for multiprocessor supercomputers of cluster architecture.

Keywords: shear rupture, extremely high speed, Tarasov's fan-shaped mechanism, edge dislocation, dynamics, elasticity, high-performance computations
