Abstract

The paper reviews the state of art in the development of new lead-free piezoelectric ceramic materials. Piezoceramic materials are used in a wide field of applications, most of them are based on lead titanate-zirconate. However, modern human health and environmental requirements make necessary the use of alternative lead-free materials. Advantages and drawbacks of perspective piezoceramics are discussed, possible approaches to increase their piezoelectric properties (texturing and template grain growth method) are considered.
