Boris ANDRIEVSKY

Boris Andrievsky was born on 6th Nov., 1949 in Saint Petersburg (Leningrad), Russia. Received Diploma degree in Electrical Engineering (equivalent to M.Sc. degree) in 1972 from the Leningrad Mechanical Institite (LMI, Leningrad); Candidate of Sciences (Ph.D.) degree in Control Engineering in 1979 from the same University; Doctor of Sciences (Sc.D.) degree in 2005 from the Institute for Problems of Mechanical Engineering of Russian Academy of Sciences (IPME RAS, Saint Petersburg). From 1972 till 2000 he held different positions at LMI.

From 1995 till 1998 he also was an Associate Professor with the Saint Petersburg Institute of Machine Building. Since 1998 he is with the IPME RAS, where he is currently a Leading Research Fellow. Since 2010 he also serves as a Professor of the Saint Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics.

Prof. Andrievsky had been Visiting Researcher at the LAAS-CNRS, Toulouse, France (Sept. 2003; May, 2004; June 2006; June, 2007; November, 2009; May 2010) as a participant of CNRS-RAS cooperative research program "Robust and adaptive control of complex systems: Theory and applications", the Visiting Researcher at The University of Melbourne, Australia (Sept.-Nov., 2005, Oct.-Dec. 2007) and the Visiting Researcher at the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands (Aug., 2008-March, 2009).

Fields of research: adaptive and variable structure control, control of oscillations, computer-aided control systems design, applications to control in aerospace, control of mechanical systems and signal processing.
