Dmitri A. Indejtchev was born in 1948. Graduated from the Polytechnical Institute, St. Petersburg, speciality "applied mathematics and mechanics". His PhD thesis presented in 1976 was devoted to the hydroelasticity problems. He is a professor since 1995. His doctor thesis was devoted to the wave processes in mechanical constructions with inclusions. He is the author of 84 scientific papers. Since 1993 he holds the position of Vice-Director (Research and Development) of the Institute of Problems of Mechanical Engineering of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is a Scientific Co-Chairman of Annual School on nonlinear processes in mechanics. He is a member of Scientific Councils at St. Petersburg Technical University and Institute of Problems of Mechanical Engineering.
