Installation of EmTeX for Windows95
Windows and Dos russification with LH fonts
Plain TeX, LaTeX2.09, LaTeX2e, AMSTeX

Create a directory for EmTeX (e.g. c:\emtex)
and put the files
   emtexa.arj
   emtexa.a01-a15
   arj.exe
   zip.exe
   unzip.exe
   extcom.exe
   install.bat
   install_.bat
to the directory. Execute install.bat. Please note that the installation
makes changes in the Windows registry and the files win.ini, autoexec.bat
and config.sys (see the last lines of the files).

When the installation is completed, the shell you use should be tuned to
work properly with the files having the extension .tex. If you use a Norton
Commander-like tool, the association can be as follows
tex: c:\emtex\winshell\texwin2.bat !
(if EmTeX is located in c:\emtex)
Note that the batch file texwin2.bat needs the name of tex file without
extension. Hence, if you use Windows Explorer as a shell, you can extract
the name using extcom.exe. Then, the association for TeX extension in
Windows Explorer is as follows
c:\emtex\extcom.exe "c:\emtex\winshell\texwin2.bat &n"

If the association is furnished properly, pointing-and-shooting on a
tex-file will start two applications: PFE editor and DVIWin previewer.
The latter displays dvi file (with auto-refreshing) and log file (see
the middle button on toolbar). Tools to manupulate with TeX file are
accessible through `Execute' menu of the Programmer's file editor (PFE),
where
`Define TeX format' is used to define the format which will be used
to compile the file (notes on the names see below)
`TeXing' is a compilation itself
`DVI to PS' converts DVI file to Post Script (600dpi) format
`GhostView' starts PostScript previewer for the PS file
`LaTeXMacros' Math symbols and LaTeX commands from tables,
LaTeX2e help (it may not find its help file,
                    they are in \emtex\ltxmcrs)
`DVI previewer' starts one more copy of DVIWIN

What you need to correct manually:
- properties of Windows' Dos-session for `TeXing'
- properties of Windows' Dos-session for MakeTeXP.bat
which is of use in absence of fonts for `DVI to PS'
- path for GhostView in PFE: `Edit' for `GhostView' in
  `Options'->`Preferencies'->`ExecuteMenu'

Graphic editor PageDraw in \emtex\MDraw gives PostScript output
Convertor TTF2MF in \emtex\TTF2MF converts TrueType Windows fonts
  to MetaFont source.
Convertor PS4MF in \emtex\PS4MF converts PostScript fonts to
  MetaFont source.
tfmshow.bat gives a table of the font

You can create your own installation:
MKSETUP.bat creates installation of your current version
of the EmTeX system in the directory indicated.
