THE SCREENING OF MESODEFECTS STRESS FIELDS BY DISLOCATION ENSEMBLE
AND MISORIENTATION STRUCTURE FORMATION DURING PLASTIC DEFORMATION

V.N. Perevezentsev and G.F. Sarafanov

Abstract

Different approaches to a description of fragmentation processes during plastic deformation of materials are analyzed. Authors mainly review original works devoted to a recently developed kinetic approach. The results of investigations devoted to a consideration of screening of initial mesodefects elastic fields by ensemble of moving lattice dislocations and the role of such effect in misoriented structure (broken sub-boundaries) formation during plastic deformation are summarized. Analytical investigation of self consistent dynamic of dislocation ensemble in a field of mesodefects (disclinations, disclination dipole, planar mesodefect) is made. It is shown that mesodefects in plastic zone disturb homogeneous dislocations flow and generate area with increased density of dislocation charge. Such redistribution of dislocations effectively screen elastic fields of mesodefects, reduces system energy and creates conditions for appearance of terminated sub-boundaries.
