Alex A. STOTSKY

Born Aug.8, 1960, received Diploma degree from Leningrad Mechanical Institute, Control Systems Dept. in 1984; Candidate of Sciences (Ph.D.) degree from Leningrad Mechanical Institute in 1988. Since 1990 was senior researcher and then the head of division in Inst. Probl. Mech. Engg (IPME). His interests lie in combining of adaptive and variable structure control approaches, based on using several Lyapunov functions. Recently he got interested in modeling and control of traffic flows. Dr.Stotsky has more than 40 publications. He served as Scientific Secretary of 5th Leningrad International Symposium on Adaptive Control Theory , 1991, was a member of Organizing Committee of IEEE Workshop on Lyapunov and Variable Structure Control Desin (Sheffield, UK, 1992). Reviewed papers for International Journal of Control, Intern.J. of Adaptive Control and Signal Proc. Dr. Stotsky participated in 11th and 13th IFAC World Congresses (Tallin, 1990; San-Francisco, 1996).
