Anton S.Shiriaev born March 27, 1970; received the Diploma degree in mathematics from the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of the St.Petersburg State University (Dept. of Theoretical Cybernetics) in 1993; Ph.D. degree in mathematics from the St.Petersburg State University (Supervisor - Prof. V.A.Yakubovich) in 1997.

Since 1996 he has been the researcher of the Laboratory of Complex Systems Control of the Institute for the Problems of Mechanical Engineering, Russian Academy of Sciences.

Dr.Shiriaev was awarded by the Russian Federation Presidential Stipend to the best young scientists in 1997.

His research interests are in fields of optimal and suboptimal control, control of nonlinear systems, stability analysis of nonlinear systems via quadratic constraints.

Dr. Shiriaev has published more than 50 journal and conference papers.

In 1998 he was staying with the Faculty of Engineering Cybernetics, University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway. In 2000-2003 he worked in the University of Southern Denmark.

Since 2003 - Professor of the University of Umea, Sweden.
